A tree that did not survive the extreme summer we had last year stands just to the north of our house. It has been dropping larger and larger branches into our yard. This one fell during a storm at night but other have dropped during the day. One while my dad was standing underneath the tree telling me how I could get rid the poison oak that surround our yard. He barely ran out of the way of the falling branch.
I have let our landlord know that the tree has been dropping branches regularly and that some may hit power lines or the house. But I do not think that they see it as a priority.
My kids are excited because this means a fire, maybe even hot dogs and or smores.
